Macy Gray -- Beautiful Girl Needs a Home for the Holidays

Macy is a beautiful BLUE pitbull.  Her color is very unique, like river rocks, or a brushed metal and not one that you see on dogs very often.  She is so loving and leans up against the bars of her cage just wanting to be petted.  She had a broken leg but has recovered wonderfully and if anything, she needs to slow down a little to make sure everything has time to heal. She is not too big and not too small, she is just the perfect size! She is very strong but so wiggly and happy.  She loves to be outside just enjoying the sun.  Cats are not her favorite thing since she doesn't understand that they aren't toys.  Please give Macy a home and family -- she is a good girl and she deserves it!

Macy is at the Escondido shelter.

UPDATE: BOB has been adopted!! THANKS FOR SAVING HIS LIFE!

Bob is a smiling, happy guy who wags is tail at everyone he meets.  He weighs about 60 lbs. and has a soft black and brown coat.  The shelter has him listed as an Akita, but he is definitely a Chow mix.
Bob is redlisted which means that he can be put to sleep at any time.  It is urgent that he be adopted, and it would be a terrible shame for such a nice dog to die just because the shelter and ALL of the rescues are overcrowded.

Please take Bob home for Thanksgiving, he will be truly thankful for his new family!

Released! :)

Another day on the road

I am off to Lancaster today to pick up a beautiful male Akita.  The Lancaster shelter is terribly overcrowded and there are many other dogs there besides Akitas that need help.  We wish we could help them all, but at least we can help one or two.

This Akita is Rinji -- He is a one year old red Japanese style male Akita.  I can't wait until we have some non-jail pics of him.

This Akita is Devin.  He will be at the shelter until next week and can be adopted directly from there, otherwise we will be taking him into rescue.

The Lancaster Shelter is located at:

5210 W. Ave. I
Lancaster, CA 93536
(661) 940-4191
Hours:
Monday – Thursday 12:00 PM – 7 PM
Friday – Saturday 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Closed Sundays and Holidays

Even if you don't want an Akita, there is a dog for everyone.  They have big dogs, little dogs, puppies, and adult dogs, all who are in grave danger of being put to sleep just because they have nowhere to go.

Psst -- here's a little money-saving tip since times are tough -- if you see a dog you want to adopt that is in the shelter, go and adopt the dog BEFORE it's taken into rescue.  We don't mind, our goal is to get the dogs into homes!  This can possibly save you a couple hundred bucks since once we get the dog, we have to pay for vet care, boarding, food, and anything else the dog needs and we ask for a donation to cover our expenses.  Believe me, we lose money on every single dog we take in since the expenses are usually much more than the donations we get.  NON-PROFIT is definitely the operative word.
